Custom figurine delivery time: how long, and when to order
Custom figurine delivery time explained: the real wait from order to doorstep, why some makers quote weeks, and the last day to order for each occasion.

By The FIGU team, 7 min read

Custom figurine delivery time at FIGU is usually 10 to 14 days from order to doorstep. For Christmas, order by 4 December; for any other date, three weeks ahead is enough. Delivery is free, with no express option to pay for.
When you look for fast delivery, there’s usually a date that won’t move, and you’ve probably heard of orders that turned up after the party. With a little method, the wait isn’t an obstacle. You just need to know what it covers, where days get lost, and when to order for each big occasion of the year. That’s what this page is for, alongside our guide to the custom figurine from photo.
A word of honesty before we start: we don’t sell an express option. What follows isn’t a promise of miracles, but a realistic calendar, and tips so you don’t lose days along the way.
Custom figurine delivery time: how long does it take?
At FIGU, allow 10 to 14 days from order to delivery most of the time. The wait is the same wherever you are, in England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, Ireland or further afield, and delivery is free everywhere.
Two details change your calculation. First, the clock starts when you order, not when you upload your photo. The time you spend looking at your preview, editing it or trying another photo is entirely up to you. Second, nothing is kept in stock: each figurine is made for you, after your approval. So there’s no ready-made piece that could go out the same day.
For a date that can’t move, don’t cut it fine: leave yourself a margin. If the birthday falls on a Saturday, order on the Saturday three weeks before at the latest. If the parcel arrives early, you’ll have a few days to wrap it and write the card; if the courier runs late, you’ll still have some margin.
One last tip, often overlooked: if the date is close, make your preview the same evening the idea comes to you. Three days spent hesitating between two photos are three days fewer before the celebration. And if no photo convinces you, trying another one costs nothing.
From photo to parcel: the steps and how long they take
The process falls into four stages, and only the last three count towards the delivery time:
- The photo and the preview: at your own pace, often a few minutes. You choose the style, see the preview for free, make your edits, choose the size and order.
- Production: the workshop sculpts the figurine over a metal frame, paints it by hand and fixes it to its base. This stage is shorter than people imagine, a few days at most.
- The check: the workshop inspects the finished piece before packing it.
- Shipping: the largest part of the wait, since the parcel travels from our partner workshop in China. A tracking link is emailed to you as soon as it leaves.
Why is production so quick? Because the longest question, “does it look like them?”, is settled before you order. The approved preview is the artisan’s reference: no sketch to send, no reply to wait for, no changes along the way.
That’s also why there’s no surcharge for speed. The delivery time is part of the price shown, just like delivery itself; our guide to how much a custom figurine costs details everything that price covers.
Why some makers ask for several weeks
Plenty of makers quote several weeks. That’s not necessarily a bad sign: the reasons are often very practical.
A sculptor working alone can only model so many pieces at a time, and a waiting list builds up quickly before Christmas. Elsewhere, the likeness is worked out during production: the maker sends a draft, waits for your reply, corrects it, sends another picture. Each round of emails costs a few days. Others produce in batches, or ship by economy post, which is slow when the parcel comes from far away. And some quoted times stop at dispatch: the journey comes on top, without being counted.
The real trap isn’t a long wait, it’s a vague one. “A few weeks” or “depending on demand” won’t let you plan a celebration around it. And a paid express option only makes sense if the maker commits to a date.
Before ordering anywhere, ask three questions. Does the quoted time run to delivery, or only to dispatch? Is it the same in December? What happens if it isn’t met? They work for comparing any shop, ours included, and our own answers are on our shipping and delivery page.
The right timing for each occasion of the year
The rule fits on one line: order at least three weeks before the date, wherever you live. Here are the deadlines for the coming months in the UK and Ireland:
- Christmas, Friday 25 December 2026: order by 4 December;
- Valentine’s Day, Sunday 14 February 2027: order by Sunday 24 January;
- Mothering Sunday, Sunday 7 March 2027: order by Sunday 14 February;
- Father’s Day, Sunday 20 June 2027: order by Sunday 30 May.
Mothering Sunday catches people out. It lands just three weeks after Valentine’s Day, so its order deadline falls on Valentine’s Day itself. If you’re shopping for both your partner and your mum, order the two gifts together in January.
For a birthday, a retirement or a wedding, the same rule applies: three weeks, and more if the person has to receive the parcel themselves. For your December list, our personalised Christmas gift ideas help you plan ahead rather than rush.
Sending a gift abroad? Not every country celebrates mothers on the same day. In the United States, Canada and Australia, Mother’s Day falls on Sunday 9 May 2027: order by Sunday 18 April. The traditions behind each date are explained in our overview of Mother’s Day 2027 and every gift date. Always follow the date of the country where the person you’re celebrating lives.
Tracking your order until it arrives
Once you’ve ordered, the workshop gets to work, and we stay quiet until there’s something useful to tell you. You won’t receive a photo of the piece or a “ready” email during production: the first email after your order is the shipping email, with your personal tracking link.
That link needs no password and shows only the status of your parcel. You can forward it to whoever will take it in, a partner or a colleague who’s in on the secret.
If the gift is urgent, have it delivered to your own address rather than to the person you’re giving it to. You can open the parcel, check the piece and wrap it your way, without the surprise being opened by mistake. Think about the time of day too: a work address, where someone is around during office hours, often avoids a missed delivery.
When it arrives, open the parcel straight away. If the figurine has arrived broken, email us within 7 days with a clear video showing the damaged spot up close: the return is free, and the piece is remade at our expense. Opening early leaves you time. And for any question about your order, write to us with your order number.
Conclusion
Custom figurine delivery time isn’t an option you pay for, it’s a calendar to follow: usually 10 to 14 days from order to delivery, three weeks’ notice for an occasion, and 4 December for Christmas. The rest is up to you: make your preview without delay, approve it quickly and choose an address where someone will take in the parcel. The wait is the same in the UK, in Ireland and beyond.
You save time where others lose it, because the likeness is settled before you order rather than during production. If your date is getting close, the best moment to upload your photo is now: create my FIGU.
Frequently asked questions
How long does it take to make a custom figurine?
Production itself takes a few days at most: sculpting, hand painting, the base, then the workshop’s check. In all, allow 10 to 14 days from order to delivery most of the time, shipping included. The wait is the same wherever you are, and a tracking link is emailed to you as soon as the parcel leaves.
Can I get a custom figurine in a week?
No: each figurine is handmade after you order, then shipped with tracking. The usual time is 10 to 14 days. For a date that won’t move, leave yourself a margin and order at least three weeks ahead. Approve your preview quickly, because the clock starts when you order, not when you upload your photo.
When should I order a figurine for Christmas?
By 4 December at the latest, wherever the parcel is going. Earlier is even better: you’ll have time to check the piece and wrap it calmly. For an office party or a Secret Santa before Christmas Day, count three weeks back from the date of the event.
Do you offer express or next-day delivery?
No. We don’t sell express delivery: the wait is the same for everyone, usually 10 to 14 days from order to delivery, and it’s included in the price shown, like delivery, which is free. What really speeds things up is ordering early and approving your preview without waiting.
Will I see photos of my figurine before it ships?
No. Nothing needs approving during production, because the likeness was settled on your preview before you ordered. The workshop checks the finished piece before packing it, and the first email you receive after your order is the shipping email, with your tracking link. That link needs no password, so you can forward it to whoever will take in the parcel.
Your memory, for real.
See your FIGU before you pay.
Upload a photo, the preview is free. You only order once your figurine is right in front of you.
